Is Your Site Hard To Find? Here Are Some Optimization Tricks That Work!

According to comScore, online retail sales grew by 13 percent in the 3rd quarter this year compared to that same quarter in 2010. That makes it the eighth consecutive quarter of year-on-year growth. It is clear to see why businesses must have a strong website available for customers and for that site to be found on major search engines.

The sad reality is, the web is full of invisible websites. The business mangers did not intent to have these websites hidden away. In many cases, they probably a lot of time and money designing them. Despite all the work, they overlooked one key ingredient to help them get found online - SEO.

In August of this year, 18 percent of web visitors to the websites of large retailers came from SEO, making SEO the #1 source of traffic according to RichRelevance's Online Consumer Report. Over 95 percent of web users who conduct a search online click on a link on the first page of the search results. The reality is that, if your website is not search engine optimized for search engines such as Google, Bing, and Yahoo!, you are probably losing out on a large number of potential new customers who can't see your business website.

Improving your rankings with search engine optimization is much easier than you might think. You must start to understand what major search engines look for and make it easy for search engines to find it on your website.

Major search engines, such as Google, Bing, and Yahoo!, have secret algorithms which they use to rank all the different websites. Although the specifics of the algorithms are confidential, it is possible to understand the key elements of what makes an individual website rank higher. Web crawlers locate web pages which are then assessed against the algorithm. The first essential step is ensuring that your site is optimized to make it crawlable. You can ensure that Google can find all of your website by submitting your website's Sitemap.

The next thing to optimize for is the content on your site. Search engines are hunting for the keyword phrases that searchers are typing in to the search engine. To boost your ranking, always ensure that your website content contains the high traffic keywords that searchers use when This will ultimately harm your rank.

Once a new web visitor has found your site, it is critical that the content matches what they were searching for. The site should be very well designed and it should be easy to navigate. If it isn't, the user will soon click back to search for another company.

You really do not have much time. As fast as the eye can process information, your visitor will be trying hard to answer three questions. Am I in the right spot? Is this where I want to be? And, what do I do from here? If your site doesn't answer these three important questions easily, it's definitely time to redesign your site so it does! If not, you will continue to loose a lot of potential business if these folks do not have a great experience. To learn more about this stuff, check out "Landing Page Optimization" by Tim Ash.

But seldom do the companies deliver on their promise. It is important for clients worldwide to look out for vendors who have documented evidence and results that prove that their services are worthwhile.

Search engine optimization services have increased in importance and there have been multiple trends enveloping the market. Most SEO companies are expected to know and understand the algorithms created for search engines, but only few are able to crack it with precision.

Some sites get more visitors than the others while some fail to get even some visitors depending on their online presence. It is the main task of an SEO specialist to boost the presence of the sites. The algorithms decide if the site page needs to be in the first page for a relevant keyword. Organic SEO services and results decide the online presence of a site to a great extent.

There are many steps to create a successful internet marketing strategy related to organic SEO services which include several content management solutions, link building services, articles, press releases and directory postings for better SEO placements. For lasting traffic flow and enhanced conversion rates, search engine optimization works the best.

Article Submission is one of the best strategies of organic SEO services as articles offer a generic platform for linking back to the main site without being blatantly promotional. The readers benefit by getting a generic insight into the market and also a relevant provider of the services. The hyperlinks embedded in the articles helps as anchor text and also as a resource box of an article directory which is pivotal to attain high search engine rankings.

Directory submissions involve electronic databases which contain plethora of topics and information pertaining to each and every domain. Directory submissions are manually done and usually take a very long time to execute but are useful enough for a boost in search engine rankings. One needs to pick up the right SEO specialists who are diligent enough for the activities and willing to work the extra mile. Get Your Website Indexed More Quickly

Getting your website indexed (up and available) by the search engines should be a priority for your business, particularly new businesses who are eager to get moving quickly. Search engines are, after all, a principle key to generating traffic.

Indexing means a search engine has found and categorized your website. It has essentially recognized it and placed it into a category. Indexing a new website can take up to several weeks sometimes, however with Google Caffeine and the new algorithms of other search engines, it may be more like a matter of days.

Here are five steps to get your website indexed more quickly.

#1 Add lot of content. Content is the primary key to search engine recognition. It's what search engines use to find and index your web pages. The more keyword optimized content you have on your site, the easier it will be for search engines to recognize and index you.

The key locations for your keywords are in your headline, first paragraph, last paragraph and sprinkled naturally throughout the copy. Don't force a percentage - just write naturally as you would if you were having a conversation with someone. Make sure to use variations of your keyword for credibility with the search engines.

For example if your keyword is "natural herb medicine", you might use the following words or phrases; "natural herbal remedies" "natural alternative medicine" "natural herbal remedy" "natural herbal medicine" "herbal alternative medicine" and so on. The key is to be natural and not repeat the same keyword phrase over and over again. Write for your reader first.

#2 Add a site map to your website. A site map is a list of pages of a web site accessible to crawlers or users. There are many online services that offer sitemap creation including Google.

#3 Start networking. Get online and comment on blogs. Place your website in the registration information. Also, join social networking sites and list your website there. Post links to your content on social networking sites. People can click through, repost and retweet them and ideally they will also link to your content from their website.

#4 Create a blog. If your website isn't created on a blogging platform, then create a blog. Blogs are great for being indexed quickly. You can use the blog to cross promote your website. Also promote your blog during social networking interactions. The more traffic and awareness you drive to your website, the more incoming links you'll generate, and links are important when it comes to indexing your website.

#5 Internal linking. Link within your website to a few strategic pages. Internal linking structures are another helpful tool to be indexed by the search engines and to increase your page ranking.

Finally, don't forget about submitting strategic pages of your site to social bookmarking sites. These sites will draw interest to those pages, create links and generate traffic and awareness. You can also submit your website to search engines, but it's not necessary. However, submitting it to directories like dmoz.org can help.

Unfortunately, since it often takes weeks, and can even take months to get approval from some of the major directories, this isn't a quick process. All things considered though, your content is where your focus should be. If you want to get indexed quickly start with a solid content foundation before you launch your site.

How to Build SEO for Your Website the Right Way - Know What Google Wants

With the large number of websites currently available on the internet, it is becoming increasingly difficult to be noteworthy to Google and other search engines. If your website is well established, you are at least a step ahead of the new sites coming online each day, but that doesn't necessarily equate to the volume of traffic you are looking for.

The one thing that is constantly a positive when you want to garner the interest of future customers is to build SEO that gets Google's attention, and the way to do that is to know what Google wants.

Search engines are designed to be fair to all websites that compete for free space in the searches, so following the guidelines explicitly for the best exposure is the only way to expect to press closer to being located on the first page of an applicable search.

Keep Your Website Current

People who tell you that a website can be designed to run itself are not very perceptive of how the process works. Search engines like seeing new content each time they crawl a website, and visitors to your site will want to return often when you build SEO by keeping them supplied with new information on a topic of interest to them.

As people return and the traffic increases, Google will raise your rank and move you up the ladder. Keep your content original and do the research necessary to provide factual and interesting information. If you have a popular niche topic and provide updates often, you will build SEO and increase your ranking.

Optimization for the Search Engines

You should make it very clear what you are promoting on a website. This is true in the printed word, pictures, and videos, but it must also be true behind the scenes where the search engines pick up information.

The more straightforward and obvious your content is made, the higher that content will be ranked. You should have a description for a webpage that includes the keyword phrases for which you want to be ranked. Those same keywords need to be your tags so they build SEO.

Quality Backlinks

Off page SEO is the heart of selling your website, and it is represented by backlinks. Of course, where those backlinks originate has much to do with how highly they are regarded. Just as there are quality backlinks that can boost your ranking, there are also links that can damage your ranking, so it is important to understand the value the search engines place on the origin of the links and how they are obtained.

If your website information is useful and provides value to the reader, it is much easier to attract quality backlinks, many from sites that are already ranked high in searches. New content and link building must be a continual part of building SEO for your website. Give it the time and effort it deserves, and you will be well rewarded.

Is Keyword Density Important for an SEO Content Writer?

Keyword density is a term that gets bandied about a lot in SEO circles. Some say it's the key, others that it's bunk. So, what's the truth? Is it important for an SEO content writer?

Wait... what's keyword density, and why should an SEO content writer care?

First, let's be clear about what it means. Keyword density refers to the ratio of a given keyword to the total amount of text in its article. For example, if the keyword phrase "Victorian architecture" appeared four times in a one-hundred word article, the ratio would be 4:100, or 4%. That's its density.

There was a time when putting the same keyword a zillion times on a page would send the page straight to the top of the search engines. But that hasn't been the case since the dinosaur days. Search engines have gotten smart, and nowadays they are sure to penalize you for doing that. It's called "keyword stuffing", and you should absolutely avoid it.

Those who say keyword density is important generally recommend a density of around 4-8%. Some say as much as 20%. You can find tools online that will analyze your density for you and make recommendations.

However...

Many veteran SEO professionals ignore keyword density completely.

Why do they disavow density? Well, they either believe it's not a very important metric used by search engines anymore, or that it was a myth from the start. The only thing it has going for it is that it's a pretty straightforward concept, which means your non-expert clients can easily wrap their heads around it.

So if keyword density isn't important, than what is?

In place of density, think in terms of the following three concepts: keyword presence, keyword placement, and term weight.

Keyword presence

First, does the keyword actually appear somewhere in the article? That's all keyword presence means. It may seem like a no-brainer, but you'd be surprised how easily you can write your masterpiece and completely miss your keyword. It does have to be in there somewhere.

Keyword placement

Second, where does the keyword show up? Keyword placement refers to the locations of the keyword. Search engines scan your article starting at the top of its structure: the title. It also looks at section headers, and body text starting from the beginning. The earlier the keyword appears in that process, the better. So definitely, definitely, definitely put the keyword in the title. Put it in your section headers too, and put it in your body text - the earlier the better.

Term weight

Finally, is the keyword common or uncommon? Term weight indicates how common the term is. The less common it is, the heavier the weight, and the easier your article will rise to the top of the search engine results. Why? Because there's less competition for an uncommon term.

As an SEO content writer, you probably won't be choosing your keywords; rather, your client will give them to you. So there's not much you can do in your article to affect term weight. However, it will dictate how strategic you'll have to be in order to get the same results. The lower the term weight, the more clever you'll have to be.

So... important or not?

So, is keyword density important? Maybe. Maybe not. You'd do best to concentrate instead on keyword presence, keyword placement, and term weight. With these three, your writing will get the upper hand.

How To Do Marketing On A Website By SEO?

In this article we are going to talk about doing SEO for your website. Especially we will talk about how to optimize your website and getting links from other website using free methods. First we are going to talk about two important elements that you need to pay attention to when you optimize your website. Second we will talk about getting links from other website using two popular and free methods. Finally, we are going to talk about the key points when you write article for SEO purpose.

On Page Search Engine Optimization

If you want to optimize your website, first you need to find out what words your target customers are used to do search on. We call this targeted keyword phrases. If your page does not have that relevant keyword phrase, it is difficult for people to find you out. This is the same for all search engines, not just for Google. When you have those keywords available, you need to include it in your webpage title and content so as to allow people to find you.

Apart from choosing correct keywords, there are some pages that are expected from search engine. For example, one of those pages is "about us" page, which allows visitors to know who you are. If you are selling product or service, it is also important include a terms of service or privacy page. By doing so you are giving visitors some confidence to your website.

Off Page SEO By Getting Links

You can use social bookmarking and article publishing to get links. The best part is that these two promotional methods are completely free.

Social bookmarking service can help a user to save different websites online. And also those saved bookmarks can be shared to public. In other words, those bookmarking websites will have a link to your website if a user bookmarks your web page. So that when someone is looking for information, they will find your website immediately.

Another promotional method is article writing. This is perhaps the most used way by other people who have limited or no budget for advertising. Those articles are written and optimized for particular keywords. And when you publish your article to an article publishing site, you will be able to get links from those article site to your website. Therefore when people are looking for information, again they can find you through your published article.

Important Points About Writing SEO content

While a lot of people are publishing article on the web to get traffic, not so many people are doing it correctly. Here are some points that you need to pay attention to when you are writing and publishing article.

First, you need to do your keyword research carefully. You cannot just start writing without knowing the keywords you want to target on. There are some free and paid software and web service that can do that for you. You can always get started by using Google Keyword tool. It is free and it is official keyword software coming from search engine giant, Google.

However, targeting main keyword is not enough for your article writing. You will need to find out the "long tail" keywords, which are keywords that are similar to your main keywords. It is because main keywords are sometimes competitive and hard to get in to the first page. Therefore you need other keyword variations to avoid keen competition.

Finally, when you finish your article, you can try to get response from reader by asking question at the end of your article. While creating SEO article content is OK, you can encourage your readers to interact with you, and find out more about them also. By doing so you will be able to understand more about your targeted market.

Improve Your Site With Website Marketing Services

Many websites find it hard to get off the ground, and even though their owners are paying a great deal of money to run these sites, they do not seem to know how to improve the pages so that they attract more traffic. The basic problem is that these are internet users with no experience of marketing and getting customers into an ordinary real-world shop, skills which would have been transferred into the virtual world. Because they have no experience, they often fail to implement a website marketing strategy that could have helped them to improve their site and attract people to the pages.

Implementing a website marketing strategy is not difficult, but you need to take a close look at your site, and see if there are any obvious problems. Firstly, you should try and avoid placing an excessive amount of advertising on the site. This is often extremely unwelcome to visitors, and will put them off returning again. If you are using adverts to make revenue, then keep it low-key to ensure that you are not driving people away. If you are using an ad-generating site such as AdWords, then you may want to check what your site looks like to a casual visitor before adding too many.

The second biggest failure in website marketing strategy is to have a site which is hard to navigate. This can be related to the problem above, where people cannot see your text or symbols on the site because of its excessive advertising, but sometimes you have just missed out on placing the page link in the right place, confused the reader with too much text and too little direction, or created other nightmares that prevent people from moving easily around the site. If you don't fix this, you will never get returning traffic.

Both of the problems above are symptomatic of a more serious deficit in your website marketing strategy, and that is simply creating a website that does not look professional. If you have not hired a website marketing services company, then you should seriously think about finding one if your website has poorly fitting photographs with text in a font color which clashes with the background, then it is unprofessional. Other problems such as spelling and punctuation errors can also put a visitor off your site, after all, they will not be hoping for reliable information from a website that cannot spell accurately.

Most of all, if you do not have any attractive content which is actually desirable to visitors, then you will never pick your website up off the low end of search engine rankings. Employing a website marketing services supplier like http://www.infoyogis.com/ can help you to clear up these mistakes and create a website that is a real crowd-puller.

Do You Want to Know Why Article Marketing Is Such a Good Backlinking Startegy?

Getting your company site listed on the top of the coveted first page of a major searching results page is, in part, kind of like a popularity contest. Search Engine Algorithms look at how many websites have created a link to your company site. These links are referred to as backlinks. For example, if another site rates your content high enough to add a link to it, the major search engines view this as an indication of the authority of your website. The more websites linking to your website, the higher it will rank on the search engine listings, or so in theory it goes. In reality, backlinks are not created equal. Some backlinks are good and are bad. You should avoid bad backlinks. Here were only going to focus on creating high quality backlinks.

Search Engines give better rankings to websites that receive many one-way links from higher ranking authoritative sites. A website will be thought to be authoritative if it has a high page rank like most of the top Article Directories.

Consistent keywords are also important for good search engine rankings. Search engine algorithms compare the keywords inside content on linked websites. If both the recommending website and also the endorsed webpage contain related keyword phrases, the backlinks are considered more beneficial.

This is why article marketing is such a good backlinking strategy. The key to being successful with article marketing is to focus on quality. You must create high quality articles that are relevant to your business. They don't have to be long. I write 500 word articles and I always pick topics I can get excited about. Article Directories only want to publish and promote high quality content, so make sure your articles are worth reading. At the bottom of the article submission form is the Author Bio Section. This is here you place backlinks to your website.

In the HTML Author Bio Section you want to use anchor text with your backlinks. Anchor text is the text that is visible on the Article web page (above the hyperlink). In order to make this work you need to use just a little bit of HTML Code. Here is the HTML code you need. " your targeted keyword phrase ". One other small point, it is best to insert your backlinks with anchor text naturally into a sentence wherever possible.

Focus on creating quality content and building quality backlinks. This will not only create better search engine ranking but it will drive interested web visitors to your site.

I hope you found this SEO information useful. If you want to acquire more information about creating lots of high quality backlinks, contact your favorite SEO.

Good luck out there!

Find the Right Website Marketing Consultant for Your Business

Making your website succeed is partially a matter of perseverance, and partially that of hiring someone to help you ensure your site has a high search engine ranking which will bring in more traffic. Deciding whether you need an SEO manager, or a complete website marketing consultant or web marketing business is purely a matter of comparing where your site is now on the rankings, and where you would like to be. If your site is almost there, but not quite, then you could try some in-house changes before calling in a consultant (although only an expert can really provide the extra shove your website needs), but if you are very low down on the rankings, perhaps very difficult to find, then you should definitely consider employing a website marketing consultant to help reveal where you are going wrong.

Choosing a good web marketing business starts by doing some research into the different companies and the services they provide. You may want help on improving the SEO content of your site, or perhaps putting more backlinks leading to your website. You need to discuss with the website marketing consultant exactly what needs to be done. Some may specialize on one type of marketing, while others may specialize in a different field. Of course, part of your research should involve deciding what exactly it is that you need.

You may also be able to find a consultant who is able to offer you advice about how to improve your website in other ways, for example by improving the coding in the mark-up language, or by improving your bandwidth so that more visitors can come to the site at the same time. You should also question the website marketing consultant carefully about what they can offer, and whether they have any suitable training in this area. Many modern consultants have at least a diploma in a relevant subject, while others have years of experience and references to prove it.

You should always take the time to examine any references that you have, including any links to currently existing websites. You may choose to do a Search Engine check of the rankings to assure yourself that the consultant can do what they claim to do. You should also discuss with your chosen consultant the fees and pricing, perhaps looking for those companies that provide a case-by-case deal, or many ones that offer training as an additional feature. All of these will be very important when it comes to improving your website visibility in the long term.

Market Your Business for Free: Search Engine Optimization

SEO, or search engine optimization, is where you prepare your website to be indexed by the major search engines. How well you prepare your website will determine how well your website performs in the search engines. What I mean by this is how well your website ranks and whether or not it is found in the first page of the results.

Now, there are a lot of techniques you can use to optimize your website. This article is not all inclusive. I will outline the basic techniques, as well as talk about on page and off page optimization.

First, on page optimization is where you optimize the elements of your page. You do not optimize a website for the search engines; you optimize a page. It's one of the reasons why you'll have different pages ranking for different keywords.

Start by selecting keywords before you create your website and optimize each page for a different keyword. This will allow you to rank for multiple keywords instead of just one or two. This gives you a chance to get more traffic because you have more opportunities for first page rankings, and this traffic will be targeted.

Next, write keyword rich content. Include good titles, meta keywords, and descriptions. Although these elements won't help you with your search rankings, per se, it is what searchers will see when they find you in the results. You want to give them a reason to visit your website, so writing good descriptions will help with this. (You can get software that will help you with optimization, so it's worth it to invest in this type of software and get rid of the guesswork.)

Off page optimization relates to factors outside of your website. This includes things like linking. When another website links to your site, these links are like a vote for your page. Linking is probably one of the most important factors because it affects Google Page Rank. Page rank is how Google decides how important the page is. Page rank is usually the result of having a lot of links pointing back to your page.

The most important thing you can do here is to take care of your search engine optimization as you build your site. Don't wait until you have built it and then decide to optimize it. It will make it a lot harder for you to optimize for the search engines once your site is built because you'll have to rewrite a lot of content. Try to write SEO optimized content as you go.

Although search engine optimization is important to building sites that rank well in the search engines, I would highly recommend you use other marketing techniques besides this one. Search engines don't buy anything. People do. Remember that when you're marketing.

Doing SEO on Yahoo

Although Google has dominated the search engine market, there are still a number of people who prefer using Yahoo as their main search engine. So if you are doing SEO successfully in Google, you may want to switch your focus to Yahoo search engine. In this article, you will learn some principles and two mistakes that should be avoided while doing SEO for Yahoo.

Fundamental Principles of Doing SEO for Yahoo Search Engine

Actually, the process of optimizing your website for Yahoo is very similar to Google. After all, both Google and Yahoo are search engines and they are operated in a similar manner.

The first important thing is that you need to offer original and valuable content that is relevant to your target readers. Search engine is all about finding and returning relevant content, it is therefore the most critical element you need to consider.

The next step is to include your targeted keyword in your blog post or article. Cramming your keyword in your article is definitely not a good idea. It is because both readers and search engine will not be able to understand your article clearly, and therefore they leave your site. And of course your targeted keyword should also match what general users are searching for. Otherwise they will not find your blog post or article.

Remember you have to deliver on the promise of your keyword. That means your keywords should represent accurately the content you are writing.

The next principle is to put your targeted keyword in some key positions in the article. For example, you can put your keyword in the title, heading and subheading, links, image and video tag.

If possible, you can link your website to other relevant website and vice versa. The best way to accomplish this is to do link exchange. Or you can write them a guest article and if they post it to their site, you get a link.

The Two Mistakes That Should Be Avoided

Bad writing: search engines will penalize your website if your copy is difficult to read, or try to put a lot of irrelevant keywords at the bottom of the page, and have unnecessary links that link to other unrelated pages. Again, having a right balance between targeted keywords and contents is crucial for SEO.

Invalid links: The objective of search engine is to provide the best user experiences for their users. Broken links implies that this site is not maintained properly and will give bad experience to their users. Therefore that website will get a lower ranking in order not to bother their users.

Five Tips for On-Page Search Engine Optimisation

Broadly speaking, any serviceable search engine optimisation (SEO) campaign should be comprised of two parts: on-page and off-page. Off-page SEO requires a significant and consistent investment of time and effort to produce results, but a little time and understanding can greatly boost your on-page SEO.

Things that make your web site easier for search engine crawlers to navigate will improve your on-page SEO. If crawlers can easily navigate and understand the structure and content of your web site, your relevance and value scores will benefit - and more importantly, so will your readers. Here are some useful tips that can produce rapid results with minimum fuss.

1. Use Header Tags
Using header tags will make your web site easier for search engine crawlers to navigate. Essentially a header tag will tell the crawlers (just as it will tell your readers) that the text contained within it places the rest of the article in context. If you are targeting specific keywords or phrases, getting these or variants thereof into your header tags will improve the chances of your page ranking for those terms.

2. Look Out For Dead Links
There is nothing search engine crawlers despise more than dead links: dead links are virtual dead ends. Readers and search engines alike find them a frustrating waste of time. Regularly checking the links on your web site is important - make it your job to perform a monthly check on any outbound links to ensure the content still exists and be careful to check your internal links after any site maintenance.

3. Use Words in URLs
Using words in the URLs of your web site will make it easier for search engine crawlers to get around your site and for your readers to remember your pages. Treat your URLs much like your header tags: they should be focused on or around your targeted key terms wherever appropriate, but above all, relevant to the content associated with that URL.

4. Use a Reliable Host
Make sure that your web site is hosting with a reliable provider. Search engine crawlers do not like downtime so it is important to ensure that your hosting provider has more than 97-98% uptime. In most cases this will not be a problem but remember that extremely cheap providers may prove to be a false economy if your web site ranking suffers.

5. Avoid Flash Home Pages Like the Plague
Once upon a time, flash home pages were in vogue. Thankfully they seem to crop up less and less frequently now as they are a nightmare from an SEO standpoint. If you must feature extensive flash sections on your web site, be sure to offer an HTML alternative or you will be committing one of SEO's cardinal sins. Search engine crawlers do not respond well to flash and some studies suggest that readers don't either.

Above all, remember the golden rule: changes to your site that are good for your readers are usually good for your search engine rankings.

In order for search engines to make money they need to be able to sell sponsored listings, otherwise known as pay per click. If a search engine wants to sell sponsored listings it first must be able to deliver quality organic results to the end users. SEO companies know that this one simple step is also one of the most important ones, especially when looking at internal optimization.

When a user searches for a specific term on line they area usually presented with ten options on the first page, and ten selections on each page thereafter. Roughly 80% of all consumers will not leave the first page of results, making it that much more critical to have a top three presence. Each result starts with a header that is usually underlined and in blue print. This header is the title tag that was assigned to that page by the website owner and it is one of the primary reasons it was found at the top the page. When that link is clicked it will take the visitor over to a page that was created by the website owner.

Taking a close look at the header of each of the results that appear on the first page it is painfully obvious that most, if not all of the terms used in the search were also in the words entered as the title tag. The title tag tells the search engine what's on that particular webpage and search engines are likely to be safe displaying them at the top and therefore making it possible for them to sell sponsored listings to other websites that may not know this little secret.

Depending on how competitive the term is, a mere title tag change may be all that is needed to instantly soar a website above all the others. Where the competition is tough it may be necessary to do a little bit of link building to a website. Should that be the case the website owner can search the internet for free SEO tips on link building to achieve optimal positions on the web. For the most part link building is just what it sounds like. It's a link on a page that points to another page. Generally speaking there is little or no value gained by linking to your own pages (from the same site) or using by linking to the same sites that links to yours.

There are a lot of competitive cases where the only way to get to the top of search engines will be by massive link building, but it will have very little success, if any, without have properly built title tags. In highly competitive circumstances it may be best to hire an SEO firm because link building is time consuming and further it's possible to do more damage than good should the website owner get penalized by having a bad link point to their site.

Online SEO Service - Weaknesses And Disadvantages

Search engine optimization can be costly and ineffective if you are not careful about what you are doing. Too many cooks in the kitchen and not enough ingredients. Basically, anyone can open up an SEO planning firm and claim to be an expert. But it is only the business that routinely lands clients and shows those clients positive results that will be able to survive the ever changing search engine optimization industry. Most costly optimization plans fail because they fail to learn and implement what truly works. If you are wanting answers, then here is what you must look for in a potential SEO plan. (Accept nothing less):

1. Proper tagging and definitions

While tagging is not as important as another key entry on this list, it is necessary because it gives the search engine bots a clear indication as to whether or not your article is about what it claims to be about. The tags on your story should essentially encapsulate everything that your piece is about. A red flag to many search engines that content is not worthy of promotion is when the content is stuffed with keywords that have little to do with the title itself. This is a sure way to get your website to the bottom of the list. If you are employing an SEO firm, then it is extremely important that they use tags properly when defining your story. If they are not, then no amount of money you are paying them will be worth the results they produce.

2. Not focusing enough on content

It really is strange how content, for the longest time in the search engine optimization world, took a back burner to keyword phraseology. Recent changes in the way that Google conducts its relevancy searches have made this mindset a thing of the past, yet many search engine marketing firms are failing to keep up. They are failing to do so because it is (or has been in the past) easier to market a cheap product that gets cheap results to a wide variety of people. No more. These days, your business will fail if you are not delivering relevant SEO content to the people searching for it.

3. Inflating costs, deflating effort

Another reason why many SEO firms may cost you an arm and a leg but are simply not cutting it is that they are inflating the cost of the actual product without inflating the results they produce. If they really wanted to make you successful, then they would stay abreast of the changes within the industry and do their best to make sure you are doing yours. Don't do business with anyone, who cannot share a list of client successes first.

Key Strategies on SEO Marketing

In this article you will discover some of the most effective SEO tactics that can increase your site ranking and attract more people to go to your website, without spending too much money. First, you will discover four key areas that you can optimize on your website. Then we will talk about getting links from other websites. After reading this article, you should be able to start optimizing your website and get a better ranking on a search engine.

Optimizing your website to get better ranking

There are a lot of things that will affect the ranking of your website on a search engine. And here are four important elements that have crucial effect on your search engine ranking:

Page Title: you need to ensure that the title of the website or webpage has your main targeted keyword. Usually it is a keyword in your industry that you would like to rank for. It will be ideal if your main keyword is inside your domain name. The content: A search engine will go through your content and see if your content really matches what you said in title. It is achieved by mentioning your keyword, or variation of keyword, several times in your webpage. Those keyword variations are called "long tail" keywords, which is discussed below.Target "long tail" keywords: These keywords are the variation of the targeted keyword. The reason why you should target them is that, if you are mentioning the same exact keyword many times in the article, both human and a search engine will find that it is not natural to read, which will result in lower ranking. To avoid this problem, it is necessary to mention the same thing in different style, or mention it in different ways. No matter how you are doing it, your objective is to make your webpage easy to read by both human and a search engine.High quality content: it is probably the most important but overlooked point. Try your best to write something that is useful or interesting, and both human and a search engine will want to read, share and like it.

Getting links to your site

Another important element in SEO is getting links. However, the quality of link is more important than that of quantity. A link coming from a high authority news site will be more valuable than a link coming from a newly created forum. High authority sites include but not limited to: articles sites, news sites and high traffic volume forums. Posting an article to those site or leaving a post on forum with your website link can help your search engine ranking.

Although links coming from external site are critical to your ranking, internal links are also important. Internal link is the link pointing to another page within the same site. Suppose you have a product page and a blog post talking about that product, the link authority from that blog post to the product page still counts. And in search engine, the ranking of that product page will be higher than that of blog post.

Increasing the Traffic to the Website in the Simplest Way Possible: LSI Keyword Articles

By definition, LSI otherwise known as latent semantic index is an algorithm that makes use of synonyms and other related keywords in order to establish the pertinence of a webpage or documents to a determined search.

Currently, the LSI keyword article is a SEO method often employed for attaining more traffic on a website and hence, a higher rank in the SERP. The reason for this is quite simple: instead of respecting a certain keyword density that will not make the search engine bots consider the website spam and still show up in the search results, using relevant synonyms makes the content easier to read.

The process of gathering appropriate synonyms to include in the LSI keyword articles always begins with finding the appropriate terms on the adequate keyword research tools. While it is true that there are several free keyword research tools available, the most important synonyms that will get you the best results are usually the ones provided by the Google AdWords tool.

Another set of relevant terms that you should prioritize and use in the content for a website are the ones that typically get more searches over extended periods. However, take note that it is futile to optimize a keyword or phrase that normally gets millions of hits. The correct approach implies selecting 10 or 15 terms that you combine in phrases found in the research.

Besides the actual search for the synonyms that are to be included in the LSI keyword articles, webmasters should also pay attention to the way they integrate them in the content. A natural introduction means that you are not to repeat the same keyword throughout the text, but replace it regularly with similar terms. Essentially, the idea of using relevant terms is to pick the ones that will fall naturally within the content of the website. Nonetheless, it is worth pointing out that in order to show up in users' searches and search engines bots indexing, the keywords must be included in the titles of the articles as well as in the first 100 words of the texts.

While using synonyms is one of the best methods to getting quality content on the website that will appeal to the target audience, a certain keyword density is still required. If the key phrases you selected do not show up as often as you see fit, then it is important to increase their incidence in the content. When the main keyword does not quite fit in a sentence of phrase, the best course of action is to use a close relevant term as provided by the search engine.

At the same time, make sure that the keyword density does not exceed 5%, as according to Google standards for instance, the optimal density is between 3% and 5%, while higher values are considered spam. Both the main keyword and the synonyms enter the 5% recommended keyword density.

For quality content, you should also make sure that the non-keywords are not repeated too often as well. While you do not have to bother with words such as "the" or "your, it is important to find relevant terms for words that are figuring too highly.

For the best way of using LSI keyword articles to propel your website to success, make sure that you engage the help of a reputable online content writer to craft these important articles for you.

Engine Optimization - Jump Start Your SEO Campaign

If you want to propel your sales or increase the demand of your service, SEO or search engine optimization is the thing you need to get your hands on. Getting your business on the first pages of the major search engines, such as Google, Yahoo, Bing, is the best way to increase traffic in your site's doorsteps. But a tougher competition and fast evolving Google will make your search engine optimization campaign a tough one. And as your Google Panda-inflicted wounds are healing, isn't it time to amplify your SEO campaign?

Seeing their sites do somersaults downwards, many site owners have been pestered with the latest panda updates from Big-G. But Google had been clear from the start before the panda updates: Quality is a must. So if you are one of those people who entrusted their search engine optimization campaign in the hands of the self-proclaimed seo magicians--black hat practitioners--perhaps you've already learned your lessons. Quality contents, quality backlinks and proper SEO management are your timeless SEO arsenal within your niche.

Many SEO companies do disregard the importance of quality contents. As Google regularly conducts revisions and amendments to its algorithm and guidelines, quality contents as bases are surely to remain in Google's basis for the rankings. Informative and not self-serving contents can greatly influence your engine rankings in the long run. After all, search engine optimization has never been a rocket science that happens overnight. Determination and drive to provide a better service to both its visitors and clients have been the dream of major search engines to every business site.

Another determinant of your site's ranking is the inbound links, the links pointing to your site. Almost everyone is in link-creation spree, building all types of backlinks on every corner of the internet. This endeavor, however, is futile if these backlinks you're creating don't pass the standards of: (1) links must be from PR3 and above sites; (2) links must be from a site with "dofollow" attributes; (3) anchor text must be the keyword; (4) links must be non-expiring ones; (5) links must be in sites with fast indexing. Links that follow these guidelines can dramatically propel your site's position into a higher ranking.

Search engine optimization has been one of the keys of having a successful online business. SEO alone, however, is not enough for you to outweigh competitors in an overcrowded niche. You need to be one step ahead of your competitors. Yet time--and not knowledge and skills on SEO--has been one of the deciding factors of your SEO endeavor. Getting a contractor overboard is smart. Getting a SEO company is way smarter. Extra hands can significantly amplify your site's performance in a shorter time.

If you are having a hard time getting back your site's ranking stance amid the algorithm changes, you can reach SEO newcastle. Also, seo north east is willing to help in developing a search engine optimization strategy for you.

How Does a SEO Content Writer Use Article Directories to Build Linkbacks?

Last time we talked about linkbacks, which are hyperlinks that point back to the client's website from other sites. The best way to build linkbacks is probably to establish mutually-beneficial relationships with other sites that will want to promote you. That takes time and investment, though. So how do you build a bunch of linkbacks quickly and easily?

That's where article directories come in.

What's an article directory, and why should an SEO content writer care?

One way to quickly and easily build quality linkbacks is by submitting your writing to article directories. These are sites that publish writing in order to archive it or distribute it to other sites. For example, EzineArticles is popular.

Unlike getting published in a magazine or newspaper, article directories generally offer minimal rejection and quick publication. As long as your article conforms to their guidelines, your article has a very good chance of being published. Some do get rejected, but relatively few compared to magazines or newspapers. Publication is also often quick, generally within two weeks, and sometimes even same-day.

The best part is that good article directories have a PR around six or seven, which isn't bad. That means the linkback in your article will carry weight.

Where to place the linkback: in the resource box

A crucial virtue of article directories is that they provide a resource box at the end where you can link back to your client's site. The resource box is usually the place where you put an author bio or further resources for the reader to check out.

For reasons of etiquette, the linkback is best placed in the resource box, rather than in the body of the article. Putting it in the body undermines the objectivity of the article, and threatens to make the whole thing look like an advertisement. It is more acceptable to put it at the end in the resource box. Some article directories have specific rules about this, so read their guidelines carefully.

Whatever you do, be sure the article directories gives you that resource box and that it appears with the article on the same page as a live link. Without that linkback, your work is all for naught. You should also make sure you can use the article's keyword as anchor text, which is the topic of the next article.

Key points

So, to sum up, the key things to remember are these:
article directories provide a quick and easy way to build linkbacksput your linkback in the resource box at the end

In the next article, I'll explain how to use anchor text to your advantage in link building.

Five Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) FAQ

Search engine optimisation (SEO) can be difficult to understand for those without an inside knowledge of the discipline. Here we have attempted to answer a short list of questions about SEO that are frequently asked by people who work outside of the SEO industry.

1. What is search engine optimisation?

Many people know little about what search engine optimisation actually means or entails. Essentially search engine optimisation is an umbrella term for a number of different processes that can help a web site rank higher in the results pages delivered by search engines.

2. What is the point?

It has been estimated that as much as 90% of all web traffic that passes through search engines clicks through to a result delivered on the first page. Other estimates are not quite so high but it is certainly true that a great deal of traffic ends up at a site that is featured on the first page - ranking in the very first position will earn your web site the highest number of visitors. As anyone with a working knowledge of marketing will know, visitors = potential customers = sales.

3. Is it possible to rank well for everything?

In a word, no (unless you are Wikipedia!). The results pages delivered by search engines are different for every search query and the processes that improve rankings are connected to specific queries. In other words, ranking well for one thing will not ensure you rank well for another.

4. How long does it take?

How long is a piece of string? The answer will depend on a number of factors, including the level of competition for the key terms (or search queries) you are fighting for. In some cases, results may be noticeable after little more than a month - but in others, it may take a sustained campaign spanning a year or even longer. Once a web site achieves a good ranking, regular maintenance work is often required to keep it in a prime position.

5. How much does it cost?

See above. Prices will vary greatly depending on the amount and quality of work required. For a locally focused web site in an uncompetitive industry, aiming to rank for a few long tail terms (but no head terms) - unconcerned with the ethical standpoint of their chosen SEO company - costs could be extremely low. On the other hand, for an international web site in a competitive industry, aiming to rank for lots of head terms in a short space of time and who insists on ethical, sustainable practice, costs could be extremely high.

Although this short article cannot provide a definitive FAQ (that document would be much, much longer), it should provide some quick answers to the most fundamental questions facing someone who has encountered the term "search engine optimisation" for the very first time. Further resources can be found at comprehensive web sites such as SEOmoz (where there is an excellent 'Beginner's Guide to SEO' for readers with more than a passing interest).

DIY Increasing Traffic To Your Website With SEO

So you have taken pains to carefully craft your website's domain name in the hope that people will be keying in those words in search engines like Google or Yahoo! and as if magic has taken place, they are brought to your site. What is next? Hold on a second. Are you sure this is how it works?

Well, indeed you have established a new internet-based business enterprise. And if you think the next step is to create an effective marketing campaign, you are probably right. You do understand that the underlying key to the success of your enterprise would be potential customers visiting your website, also known as traffic. You would probably also understand the importance of ensuring a consistent stream of traffic to your website will bring in steady income revenue.

Let us pause here for a second. So my site structure is ready and I know that I need to drive traffic to my website. Then how do I actually do that?

Well, you have dwelled into the arena of Search Engine Optimization, or SEO, a very important element of your overall internet marketing campaign. In layman terms, SEO will help push your site higher in the search listing of a typical search engine. In other words, when someone (a prospect) keys into the search engine using keywords or key phrases that happen to be related to your business enterprise, your website link will end up higher on the list with a SEO program in place.

Let us ask ourselves. How often do you scroll to the next page (that is, page 2) to look for a website link relevant to what you are looking for? Maybe, sometimes when I am in the mood. How often do you scroll to the middle or lower level listings if there are hundreds of pages? Almost rarely. What this means is that visitors who browse for what they are looking for tend to click on those links that appear at the top of the search results. And if they cannot find a suitable link, they just might scroll to the second page but if they still cannot find it, instead of scrolling to the third page, they tend to key in another alternative keyword or key phrase. They do not tend to look for information or solutions in those middle or lower level listings.

Now, you might ask if visitors may browse towards the end of the listings or the last listing page. Chances are they do. Instead of scrounging in the middle portion, they might just click the last page and your website link could perhaps be there to welcome them! I think I know what you are thinking now. Right, I might just not do anything to optimize my site and just leave it there. My question to you then is, in the capacity of a visitor, would you look for the best site or the worst? Surely, you do not want to fall into the latter category of website owners, right?

If you are committed towards doing your own SEO for your business enterprise, you will need to invest time to look for useful informational websites that can aid you in developing an effective SEO program, very often at no cost or extra charge. Prime yourself up for DIY SEO.

When creating your own SEO campaign, you want to pay particular attention to both your website content and any keyword-enriched articles associated with your business enterprise. Both of these elements can be enriched by adding keywords or key phrases. This will help draw more traffic to your website as a result of search engine results.

In ending, bear in mind that SEO is but only one of the key elements that you should take into account in your overall marketing strategy for your internet-based business. By taking small steps in implementing the key elements together, you will certainly be able to enjoy bigger successes in your business venture and well into the future.

Keywords for SEO Are Critical to Website Success

I have mentioned before that I believe having the right keywords for your website is critically important but as I've also said before it is an area many folks continue to struggle with.

Buyer keywords are crucial from our perspective because when these folks visit your site they are ready to buy. You still need to convert them with the quality of your site, however. Buyer phrases cannot be the only keywords you rely on though because it may take away from the user's experience on your site.

You see, broad phrase searchers are not as far along on the buying process as buyer keyword searchers but if your site pages are using buyer keywords only the visitors experience will not be very good. You need to make sure to use other keywords as well that add to the user's experience. If you are selling golf clubs for example and all you do is use keywords of the most popular clubs then visitors are left with limited interesting content. Add keywords such as golf balls, golf caps, golf apparel, etc. and your users now are experiencing a broader range of information and Google looks at this as a very good thing. You can add information on the golf swing as well.

Your visitors will like your site more and will be more inclined to share it with friends and may also post it on social sites such as Google+, Facebook or Twitter. This will help entice Google to rank your site even higher bringing more visitors and possibly more sales.

When choosing keywords just ask this question: Is my keyword diverse enough to allow for the creation of good user content and able to draw the traffic I need to make sales? Thinking like this will go a long way in giving Google what it needs while helping you be successful.

Google Panda has done an effective job of getting rid of many crappy sites off the top ten page but they still have a ways to go. This is a work in progress so make sure your site is ready to replace those crap sites when Google removes them. You want to be the quality site next in line to take their place.

Google is not targeting affiliate and AdSense sites like many people think. These sites are being hit because they are not built around quality but around quantity and that no longer applies for Google. Make sure you are not one of those low quality sites Google is targeting and you will be just fine.

How to Use Metadata Tags?

What is a tag? A tag is a keyword term that does not have any hierarchy and has been assigned a piece of information which helps describe any item accurately and helps it being found again in case the user looks for it. It is a piece of information that stands unique with its own signature. A tag can contain the descriptive information in the form of internet bookmark, digital image etc. Tag is also popularly known as metadata in SEO circles.

The basic use of tags is to create an identity, and hence the name. "Tag" is the same as assigning labels to items in a museum in accordance with say- era, country and utility. Therefore more than one item can have the same tag. However there is at least one feature that makes each of these items indistinguishable from the other. This unique descriptive keyword is called Permalink. This helps ensuring that the sanctity of this piece of information is maintained and it also gets appropriately located in the Search Engine Results Page index.

Tags are used in blog entries, photos and presentations. Search engines detect and use the keyword describing tags when indexing the pages. Hence one should use "Categories" and "Tag" appropriately to ensure that the readers find the link easily. Remember, assigning a tag is all about using the minimum number of keywords to accurately describe the content. The more the keywords, the more categories the item lies under and therefore more is the competition and the likelihood of the item being found is more remote.

Title tag is an important method of tagging that comes under SEO features. This is the most popular forms of tagging. Experts advise that the title should contain keywords and be descriptive enough to give a person a fair idea what lies ahead and generating interest in the reader to go ahead. Always back the article up with content to follow the title.

Many web developers use Meta tags to help in better indexing. Meta tags are tags written in HTML code on the top of the page which allows the search engine to index the articles appropriately and more quickly. These do not directly improve the web rank but help in locating an item faster.

One must use the tags carefully to avoid spamming. The only factor that must be kept in mind is that the right keywords should be assigned to the description to make it appropriate.

How Google's Panda Update Affected Websites

One of the best methods of ranking high on a search engine is to offer informative content that also contains a specific density of keywords that will trigger a high rank. However, things have changed with one search engine: Google. Without warning, Google began what was called the Panda update. This update left websites struggling to even earn a few cents a month, whereas they were earning hundreds or even thousands of dollars. This has caused websites to shut down and writers without jobs, since the majority of content mills were affected. But how were they affected and is there any hope for the future of SEO? Let's take a look at the cycle of Panda and the havoc it caused - and what we can do as website owners to reclaim our top spot within Google search results.

What Was The Panda Update?

In 2011, the best search engine Google ran what is now called the Panda update. This update was made as an attempt to filter out non-informative content from the search engine. Before the update, people found out how to gain top ranks within Google, which would place their website on the first page of the search results for a specific keyword. However, the type of content used to reach these results - such as articles laced with keywords - often were useless and provided the searcher with mumbo-jumbo. Useful content that was provided by reliable sources were forced to pages beyond the top spots. This left Google with a decrease in users since the search results often contained content the searchers were not looking for.

What Happened?

For years, website owners have worked on targeting their content using keywords intertwined within the articles. They would search for keywords that had a certain balance of searches per month plus high revenue with advertising sources. Then they would have their writers lace these keywords into the articles a certain amount of times - called keyword density - to trigger the Google bots to rank the content in one of the top positions on the best search engine Google. However, website owners started realizing that Google wouldn't look at the content itself, but would rather rank the site in the search results based on the keywords, visitors to the site and how many other sites linked to that article. Unfortunately, some website owners decided to produce junk content that offered no real information. That junk content still ranked high on the search engines and pushed the reliable content back several pages.

With Google's Panda update, Google eliminated junk content from ranking high on the search results and left the top spots available for good, valuable articles. They also kicked the rank of content that came from content mills, such as eHow and BrightHub.com. This was done with hopes that Google would regain its status as the best search engine.

Is There Hope?

There is hope for website owners that want to regain their top spot on the best search engine, Google. According to The Alternate SEO, there is a method that can be used that is not affected by the Panda update.

Finding the Best Search Engine Optimization Specialists

Search engine optimization is a specialization that is regarded very highly when it comes to your website. It requires high skills, research and creativity. Thus, the builders must be very dedicated to it in order to provide the best. Some companies make a big mistake when it comes to optimization. Some even think that they can build it for themselves and the results are usually not very good. Getting good and reliable search engine optimization specialists is a very hard task. This is partly because you must find specialists that are dedicated to making your website rank at the top of the search engines. They must be focused and equipped with strategies that will create growth in organic search results. Although optimization concepts may be very simple, persistence and experience are needed to create the best. Even though many people claim to be specialists in this field, not many of them have such expertise. A good search engine optimization specialist is able to identify all potential sources of traffic. He should be able to get the maximum traffic. In the process, he ensures that your website is always ranked at the top.

When selecting your search engine optimization specialists, there are certain points that you have to bear in mind. The specialist must be completely familiar with the services and products you are offering. This will give him good opportunity to put all his efforts in giving you the best. Optimizing For Search Engines Other Than Google

Many people feel that Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is synonymous with "increasing Google Page Rank". While Google is the largest, it is by no means the only one. There are other companies that run search engines, and a significant number of users that rely on those services. Here are some ways to ensure that your site is visible on other search engines.

Bing is the other heavy-hitter in the market. While it uses a very different ranking algorithm from Google, it still produces highly relevant and useful results to queries. Primarily, Bing weighs inbound anchor text more highly than the simple existence of inbound links (back links); the number of back links your site has counts for much less than on Google, even if those links come from authoritative sources. With Bing, you want to maintain the same domain name as long as you can, since Bing weighs the age of your domain more highly than updated content. However, you can ensure that your page ranks highly in both Bing and Google by maintaining the same domain name but providing fresh content on a regular basis.

Yahoo! is another major Google competitor; it is actually the second most popular search engine in the world. More than any other major search engine, Yahoo! gives a lot of weight to properly structured code on your page. If you want a high Yahoo! search engine ranking, you need to make sure that your page is W3C compliant, and that your most important content is high up in your code. Yahoo! gives a lot of weight to where information is located in the code for your page, instead of where on the page it may appear to the human user. Since properly structured code will not stop you from getting a high ranking with Google and other engines, and will help prevent viewing errors, there's no reason not to improve your code.

Ask.com is a much smaller than Google, Yahoo!, or Bing, holding only about 4% of the market share. However, 4% of hundreds of millions of users is still a large number, and you should still make sure your site ranks highly there. The primary feature of Ask.com is their successful implementation of universal search, where videos, images, text content, and more are all displayed in the same results listing. This means that you need to pay more attention to image and video tagging to rank highly on Ask.com, since your images might show up separately from the rest of your site in the results page for a given search. You should also make sure to submit your business's website to the Ask.com directory manually; don't wait for this engine to find you.

While Google may be the powerhouse, other search engines still carry a significant portion of the Internet population. Make sure that your site is optimized for all and not just Google. Speak to your web designer or SEO consultant about implementing some of these tips.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is a complex and confusing minefield.

Much has been written and published about the subject therefore overcoming the problems you can come across can be time consuming and expensive.

Alternatively, a more cost effective and guaranteed solution for a first page Google ranking would be to invest in " One Hour Google " from Mike Cowles and is highly recommended.

Improve Your Search Engine Marketing With Targeted SEO

Many online businesses are missing out on getting the maximum traffic for their website by neglecting their SEO. In some cases, it is true, the owners of the website do not know exactly what SEO is and how it can help them to bring people into their site. By learning how effective search engine marketing strategies can raise their website profile and ensure that more people visit their business than a competitor's, online business owners have to start learning the basics of SEO, or start working with a company that can properly help their business.

The basics of SEO begin with finding the keywords which are most relevant to your site. For example if you run a teddy bear company, then you would want to include the words "Teddy bear" among your keywords. If you have written a number of pieces of text, and only included the phrase once or twice, then you are reducing your ability to attract visitors to your site. This is due to the search engine software, which looks for results based upon these keywords. The expectation is that a customer will type in a certain phrase, for example "Yellow teddy bear", and the search engine will trawl through all the websites registered with it looking for that phrase. The more times the phrase appears on your web pages, the more likely you are to bring people to your site.

What this means for your search engine marketing strategies is that you have to target your keywords towards a particular element of the public, perhaps those who are particularly interested in yellow teddy bears. You will have to focus your efforts upon bringing those people to your site by encouraging the search engine to pick your pages as the most relevant ones. These marketing strategies are not always easy to put down on paper, it can sometimes make sense to try and invite someone in to help you.

Hiring a specialist website marketing company will ensure that your SEO works the way that you want it to, without any major problems. Finding a company like this can help to ensure that you get the attention you deserve without having to develop and improve your search engine marketing strategies yourself. It can be a great relief to leave your SEO development in the hands of a reliable and responsible website marketing company that know how best to market your web pages to the search engine software.

Get More From Your Website With Internet Marketing Resources

Everyone who runs a website should know about the huge variety of internet marketing resources available to them which can make a big difference in how much traffic they get to the site. There are many ways in which these internet marketing resources can be used in order to attract more attention to your site, including all of the major SEO instruments that can push you up the rankings and make your website look great. Using these resources to improve a website that is flagging can really make a difference, but even if you only want to do a little tweaking, the website is the ideal place to try and find somewhere to do it. Getting the best from your internet marketing resources starts with being able to identify the main sources for these tools, and then managing them effectively.

The first place that you should consider using as a resource is the world of email-capture devices. Any internet website marketing advisor will recommend this method of keeping customers. This device allows visitors to your site to "sign up" for more information. You might want to add an inducement, such as a free PDF of a report, a document or an essay that is related to the site's subject. Visitors who want this report will provide you with their name and email address. Once you have these details, you can then move on to the next stage in your internet website marketing plan.

As a follow-up to the email capture of client's details, you should put together a newsletter or Ezine about your website and its business. This is essentially like the family email which goes around during the holidays, full of details, humor and information. Model your website's Ezine on a family newsletter, and you should have an idea of what the document should look like. Once you have created the Ezine, you can then email it to everyone who has signed up to your website. Not only that, but you can do it again and again, simply changing the newsletter each time you mail your customers.

Another great place to practice your internet website marketing skills is through the use of social media sites. These sites are often great resources because they allow you to make contact with future customers in a friendly and comfortable setting, where you can promote your website to them, and the general public, through links, posts and even through tweeting. The more people you attract through social media sites, the more likely you are to see a boost in your traffic to the main website.

Does More Content Mean Better Search Engine Optimization Results?

In today's society, it's easy to think "bigger is always better." For most things, that's true: it's better to have more than less of everything from food to funds to free time. Search marketing is one of the few exceptions to that statement. While having enough content is absolutely vital, having too much is downright destructive to your results.

Too Much Of A Good Thing

Search engine optimization is successful when you and your SEO provider are able to show Google, Yahoo!, Bing, and the rest that your website provides valuable and useful content related to your target keywords. There are some criteria attached to the definition of "valuable" and "useful" even though Google is reluctant to publish hard rules. It is pretty obvious that you need to have a fairly substantial amount of content on your page in order for it to be useful. A page with no content at all is unlikely to have a lot of value to readers. After all, there's nothing to read! There is a notable exception to this: pages which consist entirely or almost entirely of images. Unfortunately, these just aren't very SEO friendly, and should be augmented with text even if the pictures explain the situation perfectly.

On the flipside, unorganized, disjointed, and overly long text isn't particularly useful either. People want targeted, efficiently presented information that explains things easily. They don't want to be distracted by a lot of useless junk content. If you have too much writing, the part of your content that answers the reader's questions will be lost in the shuffle. The result is that a potentially good, helpful website eventually gets branded as useless and starts dropping in the results.

Content, Bounce Rate, And Search Engine Optimization

One of the major ways that writing impacts your search marketing results is through bounce rate. Whenever someone visits your page through Google, Google tracks how long they stay and what other internal pages they visit while they are there. The longer they stay and the more internals they view, the higher your rank will become. If they're lingering, that presumably means they're interested and reading, which usually means that you've done a good job of presenting them with what they wanted to know.

If you have too many words, you'll overwhelm readers before they can even get started. You could provide something of incredible value, but if it's too long people simply will not even start reading it. In today's culture, humans require instant gratification and instant completion - long articles, while informative, don't provide that. If your content is anything less than crystal clear and well organized, the wall of text will be even more of a deterrent to visitors.

What's The Magic Number?

There is no one "magic" amount of content to target. As a general rule, don't go below 250 words. Anything less, and Google won't think you have enough to provide quality information to visitors. In most cases, going over 500 is excessive, and going over 750 should only be done in exceptional circumstances. If you're pushing at or above any of these boundaries, consider whether you might want to make subpages instead. These can be more individually targeted than something like a homepage, and can also rank independently and thus help your search engine optimization results.

How Relevance Affects Search Engine Rankings

In SEO, it's important to learn the importance of relevance. It's the criteria that they use to determine the importance of a target keyword, web page or an entire website within a niche. Adding content that is naturally related to the main theme of the site will help you boost in rankings.

There are different levels or categories on how search engines measure the relevance of a specific website. First is Content Relevance. Whenever there is a search query, search engines measures the correlation of your content to it. The main factor that affects this are your keywords, specifically their density and placement. It's important to know that they also consider synonyms or related phrases but the content that appears as an exact match to the term being searched appears more relevant than them. Since search engines can recognize synonyms or related phrases as relevant items, stuffing them too much can result to spamming. Same goes with an irrelevant keyword, it's deemed as an attempt to boost your site rankings artificially. This is where good on page optimization takes place.

One more factor that affects Content Relevance is the Keyword Density. This is the quantity of your keywords in the web page. The safest number of keywords in your content should be ranging from 2% to 8% of the whole content. Although it is given lesser importance nowadays, it will not hurt to know how to compute keyword density.

Having an image in your website makes it more attractive. It also plays a big part in your web page performance. Images without relevance to the topic will easily put off your visitors. So don't just put images to fill up spaces in your page. It's a different thing when it comes to search engines. Since it cannot view the content of the image, it reads them through the use of image alt tags. Relevance is also applied in this tag. Just add keywords or any word that would correlate to your business.

Another way of measuring relevance is Link Relevance. It's just like how an off page optimization work. If an inbound link from another page is based on the same niche as your own page, then it is considered relevant and will be given greater weight than those from unrelated page. The anchor text used should also be relevant. The authority of the website you are linking to is also given importance in a given search query. Sometimes it could be authority for a given topic or category and it could also be authority of a website within a niche.

Relevance, through search engines, gives authority to your website. In short makes you an expert in your field. As an SEO, you not just plainly optimize your website but also evaluate the relevance of every content that you do. It also helps to ensure that visitors are targeted and more active when they do navigate to your pages.

How to Bring Your Blog to Life - SEO Strategies for All Bloggers

You may not know enough about search engine optimization to operate your own SEO agency, but that doesn't mean you don't have what it takes to get your blog off to a great start. There may come a time when you decide to hire an SEO company to fully implement an effective search engine optimization strategy on your behalf, but for now there are some things you can do to get the process started on your own.

The first thing you have to do is create a keyword list for your blog. Your keywords are the heart of your SEO strategy, and this list is what every SEO agency would start with if hired. You simply cannot do SEO without this list, and that requires a basic understanding of what keywords are how they are used. In the most basic sense, keywords are search terms that will be placed throughout your content and routed into articles and other websites as links into your blog.

Your keywords are chosen according to what your ideal readers are searching for. When someone goes to a search engine and types in a word to find information you can provide, what would they type? You can create some good keywords just by putting yourself into their mindset and asking what they might search for if they wanted to find your blog.

From there, you have to expand your keyword list by doing some research to discover what people are searching for to find information on your niche or topic. Google has a free tool that you can use, though an SEO company would have paid services that give more accurate and detailed results. You can at least get a good list started for your own purposes using the free tool.

Once you keyword list is established, go through the content on your blog and start weaving in your top keywords wherever they fall naturally. Do not force them into the context! They have to fit naturally, and they will if you have chosen keywords appropriate to your topic.

Try to establish one high demand keyword to serve as the main keyword for your entire blog, and then weave secondary keywords in as they fit. These keywords are there to tell the search engines what your blog is about so your site can be delivered to searchers looking for related information. You do not need a lot of keywords crammed in, so keep it conservative.

You can also help your blog out by starting to collect backlinks to your site. The best way to do this is to guest post on other blogs that are related to your own blog in some manner. You write a really great post that they want to share with their readers, and they include your bio and a link back to your own blog in exchange the right to share with their readers.

There are many other ways to collect backlinks and increase the ranking of your blog, but simple one-site SEO and backlink building will get you started. If you want to learn more, consider working with an SEO agency to learn more detailed SEO strategy.
